The Irie Beats are based in Bell Gardens, California. Formed in 1996, they have been providing the sweet sounds of roots, rock, reggae, dub, ska and rocksteady music to Los Angeles for over 8 years. The band brings the mesmerizing sounds of classic hollow-bodied guitars provided by Robert Sotelo and Luis "Oso" Rivera and blends them with the creatively heavy bass lines of Eddie Lozoya. The welcome additions of Jorge Rivera on drums and Edmundo (last name here) on Organ and Melodica provide the fine touches of this up and coming band.
The band has performed at world renowned venues such as The Whiskey AuGoGo, The Roxy, The Knitting Factory, Fais DoDo, The Key Club, B.B. Kings, The Coachhouse, and The Universal Amphatheatre to name a few. They have also traveled up and down California, making stops in cities such as San Francisco, Sacramento, Sunnyvale, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Oceanside, Hesperia, Riverside, and various others. In addition, they have been blessed with the opportunity to have performed along such notable artists as The Skatalites, Toots and the Maytals, Phillis Dillon, The Congos, Kymani Marley, Maxi Priest, Hepcat, The Slackers, Frankie Paul, The Skeletones, See Spot and The Aggrolites.
